Technote Details :: New upgrade and installation procedure

Starting with MX Kart 1.1.0 the upgrade and installation procedure has sustained several changes. The old way of upgrading and installing MX Kart will no longer be viable.

Note: This technote applies to users of MX Kart 1.0 who want to upgrade to MX Kart 1.1.0 or higher.

The reasons ehind the upgrade procedure change are as follows:

• AdvRs is NOW included in all our extensions. The MX Kart 1.1.0 version is natively integrated with the Advanced Recordset or AdvRs. If you have previous versions of AdvRs we suggest to delete them.

• ImpAKT is included in MX Kart 1.1.0. If you have previous versions of ImpAKT we suggest to delete them.

• Better integration. We integrate ImpAKT and AdvRs into the mxp file that belongs to MX Kart. This will provide all the extensions with a better integration.

Please follow the “Safe installation process” to avoid problems using either as a single extension or as part of a bundle. We also advice you to check the changes and how to use them here.

When upgrading from a previous version to the new MX Kart 1.1.0

• Uninstall AdvRs. Once deleted from the Extension Manager, AdvRs will never need to be installed again.

• Uninstall ImpAKT. Select ImpAKT and choose the “Trash” Icon to delete the extension from the list.

• Uninstall the version of MX Kart you previously owned.
  
  

• Install the new 1.1.0 version of the software. The file will automatically install for you a new version of MX Kart but also a new version of AdvRs and one of ImpAKT. It will not be visible in the Extension Manager but will add more functionality with your other InterAKT extensions.

• When installing the new version you might get a warning that some elements are already installed. In order to avoid any complications choose Yes to All in order to overwrite with the new version of the software.

When already owning an MX Kollection.

• If you have a version smaller than 2.8.0 follow the steps presented in the paragraphs above. (Uninstall ImpAKT, AdvRs and install MX Kart)

• If you have MX Kollection 2.8.0 just proceed with the installation process. At some time during the installation you will receive a warning that some files are overwritten. Select “Accept ALL” and proceed with the installation process.
