Technote Details :: New upgrade and installation procedures

Starting with MX Kollection 2.8.0 the upgrade and installation procedure has sustained several changes. We integrate all the extensions into a single mxp file that belongs to MX Kollection. This will provide all the extensions with a better integration.

Note: This technote applies to users of MX Kollection 2.0.0 or 2.7.5 who have upgraded to MX Kollection 2.8.0, 2.8.1, 2.8.2, 2.8.3, 2.8.4 or 2.8.9.

Please follow the safe installation procedure described below to avoid problems using the MX Kollection bundle. We also advise you to check the product changes and how to install them in the What's new section corresponding to each product.

When upgrading from a previous version to the new MX Kollection 2.8.0

• Uninstall AdvRs. Once deleted from the Extension Manager, AdvRs will never need to be installed again.
• Uninstall all elements of the previous MX Kollection version. (ImpAKT, NeXTensio, MX Looper MX Widgets and MX Query Builder)
• You do not have to uninstall KTML Royalty Free, as it will come in a different .mxp file.

Install the new 2.8.0 version of the software. The file will automatically install for you a new version of MX Kollection. The separate extensions will not be visible in the Extension Manager but will be present in Dreamweaver just like in the previous release. 

When installing the new version you might get a warning that some elements are already installed. In order to avoid any complications choose Yes to All in order to overwrite with the new version of the software.

When upgrading from separate products to MX Kollection 2.8.0

• Uninstall AdvRs. Once deleted from the Extension Manager, AdvRs will never need to be installed again.

UNINSTALL ALL elements of the bundle you might already own. (ImpAKT, Nextensio, MX Widgets, MX Looper, and MX Query Builder).

If you leave an extension MX Kollection will overwrite the files, but when trying to uninstall you will remove both the single extension and the element from the bundle. In order to make sure these problems do not appear please check twice before installing MX Kollection. 

You DO NOT have to uninstall KTML Royalty Free or PHAkt, as they ship in different .mxp files.

Install the 2.8.0 release of the bundle. The .mxp file will install all the extensions in the bundle. As you may see from the picture below the Extension Manager will only show the bundle, but all products will be present when opening Dreamweaver.
