Technote Details :: Upgrading to MX Kollection 3.1 and installing new InterAKT products

Issue

Scenario 1

After upgrading from MX Kollection 3.0 to MX Kollection 3.1+, my web applications do not work anymore.

Scenario 2

After installing MX Calendar and/or MX CSV Import-Emport and using them on web applications created with MX Kollection 3.0, my web applications do not work anymore.

Reason

The two most common reasons that cause your web applications not to work anymore are:

  1. Improper installation of the products. 
  2. Missing to update the includes folder after upgrading at least one of the products used on your site.

Solution

For the first scenario, the solution to the problem consists in:
  1. Uninstall MX Kollection 3.0 by using the Extension Manager.

    Warning: Please note that the MX Kollection uninstalling process might take a while, depending on your computer configuration (between 5 and 45 minutes). The Macromedia Extension Manager window may appear frozen. Please be patient for the uninstalling to complete and do not kill the process, nor restart your computer.
                   
  2. Install MX Kollection 3.1.
  3. During the installation process, when you are asked if to replace (overwrite) older files, click Yes to All:


                          
  4. When the installing is complete, restart/open Dreamweaver and update the includes folder of your side. Updating the includes folder is compulsory so that the application to work as expected.
    Acces the InterAKT Control Panel:



    Click the Update includes folder entry:



    In the window that is opened, click Update selected button :


Regarding the second scenario, if you have MX Kollection 3.0 installed and you also purchased MX Calendar and/or MX CSV Import-Export, the latter products do not work on a site created with MX Kollection 3.0.

In order to solve this problem, go ahead and perform the free upgrade of MX Kollection 3.0 to MX Kollection 3.1+. You have to uninstall MX Kollection 3.0 and then install MX Kollection 3.1+. To make sure the process goes without errors, follow the steps described above (for the first scenario).

Note: If you have the MX Kollection bundle installed and you want to install other InterAKT products, when you proceed with it, a window will pop-up and you will be asked if to replace old files. Click Yes to All for a complete and correct installation.

  this is not working were is the set in dreamweaver  i need to remove manually

At what point will the popup warning about the new version of products go away? Each time I open Dreamweaver, I get a popup warning about my recent upgrade that always opens a browser window to this page when I click OK.

Answer:
The pop-up window will disappear only after you upgrade all the Dreamweaver extensions that you purchased from InterAKT Online. The upgrade is free and can be done from the "My Account" section on our website. Remember to also update the includes folder after you install the upgrades for your extensions (this can be done from the InterAKT Control Panel).

Question:

I have all the current versions,yet I still get the popup saying I don't

Answer:

This happens due to a bug. After checking that no installed product has a neweer version, check out this technical note for instructions on correcting this problem.
