Starting with 17th May 2007, Adobe Systems will stop offering support for any version of the discontinued InterAKT products. As a result, we will not answer to new support incidents starting with May 17th, 2007. Pending support incidents will still be followed in order to be closed. The product forums will remain open and be transformed in user-to-user forums. The general forums will be made read-only and not allow new posts or comments.
For more information about the affected products visit: www.interaktonline.com/Support/

Hello Interakt Fans
Being a devoted customer like many of us are, and fearing that we will loose this valuable forum. I have set up www.myinterakt.com a simple forum where we can continue our support among each other for these awesome products. It's a basic forum and I will develop the site as needed I am open to suggestions from our community.

Hi guys,
These forums will stay, but creating a new one is an emotional reaction - it is supposed to reduce FUD.
So it's up to you guys to decide if it's time to move out of our forums, but that's something I would really advice against.
Alexandru

Hi,
seems like everyone´s in sheer panic now :-) I think it would make more sense staying here in these forums, as the Interakt, ooops, Adobe, oops nevermind :-) guys will more likely be able to watch & react to what´s written here than somewhere else.
>>
These forums will stay
>>
Would it be appropriate to imply the unspoken addition "forever" then ? ;-))
>>
What is FUD?
>>
Frequently Underpaid Developers maybe, lol ;-)
Günter
P.S. How about "Interdobe" ;-)

Hi Alexandru,
These forums will stay,
How so? So Adobe will be keeping the Interakt site up after March 2007?
but creating a new one is an emotional reaction - it is supposed to reduce FUD.
It's interesting you're mentioning FUD. Doesn't FUD stand for an action of a big company to purposefully cause fear, uncertainty and doubt among customers of another company?
So it's up to you guys to decide if it's time to move out of our forums, but that's something I would really advice against.
I spent some time contributing to a website called mbeduser.com when mBed (makers of the first DHTML authoring software back in 1997) closed down. The company and the people were great, but then they from one day to the other decided to sell to Oracle, and that was the end of the story. (sound familiar?) Anway, some enthusiastic guy (who's now a maker of Dreamweaver extensions, btw) set up this forum for former mBed customers, and it made it for, say, a year or so, then it just died down.
That's because you can't keep something alive that's dead. And that's what it will be by March.
Anyway, I guess if we had started building up forums sooner on the web and really started a larger community, that would have a) attracted more clients for Interakt, b) made it harder for Adobe to dump all this stuff because of the little user base that is easier to disappoint than to show some devotion to.
I feel that now, it's not just emotional, but entirely rational to open up other forums, because you never know. However, if we deserted this forum sooner, Adobe might get the impression that Kollection isn't worth it either and trash it, too. So I guess that's what Alexandru is advising against.
I'm sorry, this all seems so at loss, Alexandru. Did you really think we'd jump up and down for joy?
Bernd

Dear Alexandru,
It's not and emotical reaction but a survival reaction.
Please give us more feedback ( on activation , future with adobe , future with our products ,etc.....)
I understand that you must be quite busy right now but interakt customers are still here.
Thanks

Nice of you to drop in on a discussion Alexandru,
I agree totally with a statement from Bernd, you can't keep something that is dying alive.
However I totally agree with the setup of a backup forum, one that is not owned by formerInterakt / Adobe (as companies) as they cannot be relied upon to have this information available after 6 months. Remember it has been promised 6 months, after that no guarantees, and thus it is possible to quit first thing after 6 months.
Alexandru, if I can make a suggestion towards you: get a domain name on your personal account (not in any way associated to Adobe) and mirror the forum there, that might take away some of the anger / frustration / uncertainty and it might set some trust in the future regarding your statement to keep it available (It is not you we do not trust in these promises, but Adobe).
Now for some questions on information you provided:
["We hope that you have enjoyed the time spent with InterAKT as much as we have. We would like to thank all of you for being here, and hope you will remain by our side in this new venture."]
Sure we have enjoyed it, just that we feel left out in the cold so update us on the future that we can expect.
["Q: What happened with MX AJAX Toolbox, released at the beginning of August 2006? The AJAX Toolbox is not currently being sold as we are working with Adobe to coordinate its capabilities with the Adobe Spry framework."]
Does this mean there is a possibility that it will be developed further as a seperate extension? I never understood the Spry framework, mostly it doesn't work very friendly or it doesn't work at all. The great thing about the interakt extensions is of course the possibilities it provided to webdevelopment. Will there be seperate webdevelopment products available from Adobe, or will they be integrated into products like Dreamweaver, Flex.... and products alike?
Kind regards,
Richard
