I like the remote file explorer i KTML and I have a question about it, why not add the explorer as a separate product as well to handle files visually on the server.

I develope several sites with a lot of users and a lot of file uploading, not all files that are uploaded are inserted in a db (uploaded via users KTML instances) an over the time the server fills up with a lot of images and documents not needed or used anymore.

I would like a standalone file explorer that is rezisable (as KTML) and where I will be able to sort files in different ways, for ex:

1, All files
2, Files with no references in db
3, Fils with references in db
4, Different file extensions
5, Files sortable after size, upload date or last access (like a common explorer window in an os)

From here you can edit, delete and move files visually and you gain kontroll over the space on your server directly from your webpage.

And also, please, make it possible to list files in different way in the window, thumbnails (maby small and smaller!) or file lists so it is easier to scroll through than it is now, the window is relativley small and the thumbnails take up a lot of space. With many files on the server there is a lot of scrolling.

See it as a visuall FTP for webpages. You already have the thingie, why not just develop it a bit more and make it useful?

Regards
/Bjorn

Hello Bjorn,

I've noted down your feature request and forward it to our product managers to be considered for a new release or a new product.

Thank you!

Regards,
Florin

Bjorn, I am looking for the same functionality.  Did you ever get this to work as a stand-alone, without the editor?
