Details - InterAKT Site :: Anyone using CS3 on Mac yet? Does it suck?
This thread was displayed: 0 times
Starting with 17th May 2007, Adobe Systems will stop offering support for any version of the discontinued InterAKT products. As a result, we will not answer to new support incidents starting with May 17th, 2007. Pending support incidents will still be followed in order to be closed. The product forums will remain open and be transformed in user-to-user forums. The general forums will be made read-only and not allow new posts or comments.
For more information about the affected products visit: www.interaktonline.com/Support/

OK this has nothing to do with InterAKT but I feel comfortable in this group as opposed to other DW forums out there.
Anyone who's used Dreamweaver 8 on Windows, then used it on a Mac knows what I am talking about. The Mac product sucks. It just feels hokie and half-assed when you use it. Like the Macromedia guys worked hard on the Windows product, then ported over the Mac product in a week.
- Scrollbars won't scroll sometimes
- When you click the Insert Image button, instead of bringing up Finder to browse to the image file you want, it inserts a damned 32x32 pixel gray box, then you have to insert an image into that
- When you click the Insert Table button, instead of the dialog box asking for how many rows, how many columns etc, it just plunks a 3x3 table in your document and you have to edit from there.
I'm not talking performance either. I realize the Universal Binary will make it faster. I'm talking about all the stupid little UI bugs and stupid crap that Dreamweaver did that just made the Mac version hard to work in.
So's anyone got it installed on a Mac yet? Mine won't be here 'til next week :( and I am dieing to know what it's like on a Mac.

If anyone cares, here's what I've found...
- Still, scrollymouse sometimes doesn't work in some panels
- Still, clicking the Insert Image button throws you a damned 32x32 image placeholder instead of asking for a file (like in Windows)
- Still, clicking the Insert Table button throws you a 3x3 table instead of the nice dialogue box (like in Windows) asking for table dimensions, if you want a <th> at the top, etc, etc.
Stupid lazy-ass Adobe OSX programmers!
Dreamweaver Developer's Toolbox seems to be a-OK though. It's all there, whew.
I'm pretty bummed out that MX Calendar, RSS Reader/Writer, Dynamic Table Sorter, etc, etc are useless to me now though. I used them a lot, loved their interaction with Kollection. I didn't have to go download some seperate calendaring app. Eh, on the bright side, Adobe COULD have just said "No Kollection for you!" and didn't even allow Dreamweaver Development Toolbox to be created. At least I/we have that.
