I want to start off by saying that this isn't a mean flame or a rant and rave against you by some competitor.  I'm just a developer who uses your tools (bought one, really appreciated the other free one, and talked my boss into buying the KTML Pro Developer edition from the office).

Your tools are okay, but they are not wonderful.

First and foremost, I don't like the mindset that drives them.  Instead of creating tools that work with me, I'm finding that I must alter the way I work to use the tools.  For example, your Send E-mail tool only works with your custom Insert/Update transactions.  It would be better if you worked with the standard Dreamweaver Insert commands.

Now, your wizards aren't so bad, but they generate some of the UGLIEST tables I've ever seen.  I mean, really, those styles look like they were designed by a color-blind engineer.  And there are so MANY of them!  After I run one of your wizards, I have to scroll though a mile-long list of your icky style tags to find mine (yes, I could use the CSS picker in the panel, instead of the one down in the Properties panel at the bottom of the page, but again -- why do I need to change the way I work to accomodate your tools?).  After I use your wizards I must spend 5-10 minutes stripping out your ugly styles.

Oh, and I can't rename the input fields (the labels, but not the fields).  I usually use DW's built-in form validator to validate the form.  So I usually use Input names like "First_Name" rather than the table name, which might be CustomerFName. By using the user-friendly version, the DW form validator pops up a nice, friendly message for the user: "First_Name is required." I have managed to work around this by going into your code, after the fact, and modifying both the input tag names and your insert names.  But, once more, I'm working around you, not with you.

As I said, I like your tools.  For the most part.  And there are a few more I may buy in the future.  But I think you do need to know that there is room for improvement.

I hope you take these comments in the spirit they are intended: one of frank honesty.

Thank you for taking the comments in the spirit they were intended.

I was recently at another forum and expressed similar thoughts and suggestions on their products, and was not well received.  Your professional attitude is very encouraging and I do hope to continue buying your products in the future.
