Starting with 17th May 2007, Adobe Systems will stop offering support for any version of the discontinued InterAKT products. As a result, we will not answer to new support incidents starting with May 17th, 2007. Pending support incidents will still be followed in order to be closed. Hi guys,

We have two options for the MX AJAX Toolbox newsletter and we would like to know what you think as to which one we should choose. The first one uses the demo website header with the toolbox, while the second one is completly new. Please let us know which one you like best:

version 1

Version 2

Thanks for the help.

Magda

I'd say the second one as that is what people will have already seen on the main Interakt site.

Mind you, this could cause confusion as you're promoting the AJAX Toolbox rather than the Power Pack. So perhaps the first one....

Why does everything have to be so complicated ;-)

Hi John,

Well, that would pose a bit of a problem. On the home page of the site, the banner advertises for the AJAX Power Pack (the bundle that includes MX AJAX Toolbox).

Would that be confusing to the user? Both products offer AJAX development, and both have AJAX in the name, so we would not want to confuse people by having the same visuals also.

Do you think it would be a good idea to go for the second image?

Hmmm, I must admit I have sometimes had to spend quite a bit of time going round some sites because there have been very small details which lead me to think one thing and then wonder whether I've misunderstood. So making the line between AJAX Power Pack and AJAX Toolbox confused by using the same graphics could cause that.

I don't think the graphic in the first version is established as the branding for AJAX Toolbox simply because the demo site uses it. So in my mind the second version is the branding for the whole AJAX set of products. But then, Kollection Pro isn't AJAX anyway!

My own feeling is go for the second version as that's certainly established as AJAX on your site. Just make sure people don't mistake AJAX Toolbox for the AJAX Power Pack and get disappointed to find out they've not got Kollection Pro!

Hope this helps. I have to be careful I don't end up typing gibberish!

Hi Magda

I vote for #2, as this is how you introduced the new product line.
However, Jon may be right, too.
Ah, I see your second post, seems you are not sure anymore ;-)

Hi yea Magda,

Re"On the home page of the site, the banner advertises for the AJAX Power Pack (the bundle that includes MX AJAX Toolbox).

I think it would , the ads are strong and apear kinda color coded.

What about giving a discount for the Power Pack too in the same newsletter? Then you could clarify the difference in products.

Like the other responses, I would be concerned about maintaining uinformity so that people do not become confused.  Seems to me the use of a consistent banner is best - but we seem to be using to backgrounds anyway -- #1 for the demo and #2 matches the concepts of what is on the website advertising (I think). I would be inclined to think it makes no difference which one you use, but you ought to change the site to use just one everywhere.

I like version 1 the best.  If anyone visted the demo site (to get a sneak peak) then the toolbox would be a familar graphic.

This also gives you an opprotunity, later in the newsletter, to add a "Go Pro" section that would highlight the Power Pack.  Then you could add a smaller version of the "rocket science/blue" graphic.  Just a thought.

As long as you include the product icon somewhere in the body of the newsletter, you should be safe.

I have to disagree, InterAKT is promoting two new different products and a new bundle.  The rocket science/blue graphic has already been designated for the Power Pack (AJAX Toolbox and MX Kollection 3 Pro).  I think it would be wise for InterAKT to make sure that if they are going to promote the Toolbox as a stand alone product, then they to make it as different as possible.

Look at Adobe, when they promoted Studio 8, they used color.  Blue for Studio, Green for Dreamweaver, Red for Flash, Yellow for Fireworks, you get the picture.
