I'm using dreamweaver 8. My home page looks fine in dreamweaver and when I check it in explorer or safari from dreamweaver. Once I upload to the server things go bonkers. One of my swf files is missing and a column bleeds down outside the page. What am I missing? I'm not super techie, I'm actually a graphic designer trying to make the jump to digital design, sorry in advance. www.imm.edu is the page in question.

Hi Denise,

I don't know if I can help you much on this matter, the problem is probably caused by some incorrect CSS definition, not related to any Dreamweaver bug.

Regards,
Ionut

How do I go about correcting faulty css style? I even had one item (an swf)  that was not changed at all completely disappear.

Try checking the changing the doctype, XHTML (even transitional) is much more consistant browser to browser.

Also try Firefox with web developer addon,  use this to view the page with all CSS disabled and there is the DOM viewer as well.

Lastly use the validators on the w3c.org site both for css and for html.

Hope this helps.
