Starting with 17th May 2007, Adobe Systems will stop offering support for any version of the discontinued InterAKT products. As a result, we will not answer to new support incidents starting with May 17th, 2007. Pending support incidents will still be followed in order to be closed. The product forums will remain open and be transformed in user-to-user forums. The general forums will be made read-only and not allow new posts or comments.

"Cannot Update a File. This extension will not be installed" is the message I am receiving when I try to install any extension, including dynamic charts from Interakt. This has only recently started. I uninstalled Dreamweaver 8.02, reinstalled and continue receiving the same message. I note that even when I reinstall Dreamweaver it is recreating the cache.
Knowing that you are the experts in Dreamweaver, I seek your help in possible solutions. Is the cache the problem? If so, what do I do? Any other possible solutions beyond a reformat of my hard drive?
As indicated, this was not always the case. Installing extensions have been easy always. I am puzzled by this new development.

Hello,
This error generally indicates that you need to uninstall the previous versions of the products you want to install, before actually doing the install.
Please try to rename your configuration folder, located here: C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration. When you rename/delete the "Configuration" folder, all the extensions are disabled from DW. You then have a clean configuration - this can be useful in many situation, as Dreamwever's .xml files could get messed up from too many extensions installations.
Also, rename the Configuration folder from here: c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Extension Manager\Configuration\. This is a similar folder, but only for the Extension Manager (and it's specific for Dreamweaver 8)
Then, start Extension Manager, let it rebuild the cache and install the extensions one by one.
Let us know if you still have problems.
Regards,
Florin
