I installed the trial mx collection and I'm trying to do a test insert using the mx insert record but when I try to view the page, it won't load and it appears to crash my iis- or at least I can't view my other sites.  what did I do wrong?

I'm running windows xp sp2
sql server 2000
iis5.1

any suggestions?

Hello,

What server technology (PHP_MySQL, PHP_ADODB, Coldfusion or ASP_VBScript) are you using?

Please try to upload the "includes" folder on the remote server, and also try to enable the display of errors so that you can see if there are any parsing or compiling errors on that page.

Regards,
Florin

I'm using ASP VB Script.

I'm developing locally on my laptop. I was wonderng if I need to upgrade my IIS to 6.0 but I think 6.0 is for sbs or server 2003 only.  I only see a resource kit available for download and I already downloaded that.

Funny thing is that I DID SEE it work before.  I just don't know what I did.  I've been playing around with different versions of DW.  Right now I have MX 2004 and 8 installed.  I don't remember if I had the version working with 8 or 2004 but I did have it working at some point.  Would the version of DM matter?  Should I try it on a older version like MX?  My laptop is running Professional SP2.

Since I'm develping locally I don't have to upload the includes anywhere.  I always disable show friendly error messages in IIS but I still couldn't get the thing working.  I'm downloading the internet explorer beta as we speak (or I type).

Hope this information helps, again, thank you.

Hello,

No, the Dreamweaver version shouldn't matter.

Please try to run a simple page (that displays the results from a recordset for example) and check if you see them.

Then, try to apply an Insert Record wizard on a new page, and see if that works.

Regards,
Florin

I've already been able to create a recordset with no problem- my dreamweaver works fine.  It's just when I try to use the interAKT products that I get the timeout problem.  I even tried it on another computer and got the same problem.  What gives?

Hello,

Please try this: make a back-up of the includes folder, then delete it from your server. Regenerate it by using the Update Includes folder button from Control Panel (click on the checkboxes and then on Update Selected). You'll have to re-enter the settings from Control Panel after this (e-mail, debug mode, language, login settings)

If you still have problems, let us know.

Regards,
Florin
