Can I use the Static MX Tree Menu behavior in an HTML or XHTML page?

I would like to create a site using the DW8 template "3 column left navigation" that is an XHTML document. I would then like to add a static tree menu to the left column.

The source data for the tree menu should be in a separate file which I will "include" on the content pages. This way, I can edit the menu once and change for all content pages. The separate file should be an HTML file, if possible, and must "include" the JS files from InterAKT that build the menu.

Can I do this using the MX Tree Menu in a XHTML page, or must I use a PHP or ASP page?

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

You will have to place/call the menu from a .php/.asp/.cfm page. "Static menu" means it does not use a database (it uses one only for a "fake" connection actually, for DW integration).

Helllo Ionut,

So if my source data pages are PHP (where the "include" statement to the treemenu.js files is as well as my data for the menus) BUT my content pages (where the menus are displayed) are XHTML, will this work???

Then the call would be to a PHP page from an XHTML page.

You can try to generate the menu in a .php file, then load it into the browser and save the HTML output (from view-source) in a .htm file that you will use into your site.
