XML Import-Export Forum :: Import Time To Access Database

Starting with 17th May 2007, Adobe Systems will stop offering support for any version of the discontinued InterAKT products. Hi,
ive been trying to import the time from an xml field. Its currently set in the xml to show time for instance as 13:51. Im importing into an access database and when you select DATE_ACCESS_TYPE it only shows the date, not time. Is it possible to import the time into a Date/Time field in access?

Hello,
If you have selected the fields' type to be DATE_ACCESS_TYPE, the XML must contain a date or date time, but not just the time.

The problem with this is that the XML sheet comes from an external partner company, and only puts the time in the XML so there is no way to change this. Does this mean i cannot import just the time?

Hello,
Yes cannot import just the time into a date time field. You could make a character field into which to store this as a string.

I tried to import the format 13:21 into a text field in access, but it throws all the results back with syntax error, looks like the text field in access does not like the character :
