Hello all,

As I've noticed that many of you have faced problems with getting JavaScript error messages in Dreamweaver environment, while accessing certain commands or server behaviors, editing some SB interfaces or just opening Dreamweaver.

Many of these errors are caused by the fact Dreaweaver's cache index file gets corrupted.

In order to read more about this issue and to find a possible solution, please check this technote.

Regards,
Ionut

Hi,

If deleting the DW cache file does not help, you could try to recreate your DW "Configuration" files from scratch - do these:

- close all DW instances
- rename (to "Configuration_old") the "Configuration" folders from this hidden locations (this depens on how many DW version you have installed on your computer):

        - "c:\Documents and Settings\XP_user\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration"
        - "c:\Documents and Settings\XP_user\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration"
        - "c:\Documents and Settings\XP_user\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration"
( if you are on Windows OS)

        - "Macintosh HD:Users:MAC_User:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Dreamweaver MX:Configuration"
        - "Macintosh HD:Users:MAC_User:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Dreamweaver MX 2004:Configuration"
        - "Macintosh HD:Users:MAC_User:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Dreamweaver 8:Configuration"
( if you are on MAC OSX)

- if having DW 8 installed, delete all files from:
         "c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Extension Manager\Configuration\Extensions"
    or
          "Applications:Macromedia Extension Manager: Configuration: Extensions"

- install the extensions you need for any DW version you want use them with (you can then activate them for other DW instances too, from Extension Manager window); if you have DW 8.0.2 you will need the latest versions of our extensions (wich are only compatible with DW 8.0.2 and DW 2004).

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Ionut
