Has anyone had additional difficulty with CSS Menus and Contribute in terms of compatibility? I have set up an HTML page using a PHP include file for my site's navigation menu (URLs below).

The issues I have discovered is that when someone attempts to edit the cssmenus2-driven menu file, Contribute adds some unsolicited tags to the <li> that messes up the page.

  • This only happens if someone wants to add a new 1st-level nav item and a 2nd-level nav item.
  • If they add only a 1st-level nav, it works fine
  • if they add a 2nd-level item to an existing 1st-level item that has 2nd-level items

I have stripped virtually everything out of the menu include file and placed it in the header of the HTML  page (the skin CSS and the cssmenus.js) or in the navigation div, and Contribute still adds the unsolicited code.

I am very close to a solution, but I need some input. You can see the pages and my efforts a:

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

Neal
