MX AJAX Toolbox Forum :: The new Adobe FW toolbox
This thread was displayed: 0 times
Starting with 17th May 2007, Adobe Systems will stop offering support for any version of the discontinued InterAKT products. As a result, we will not answer to new support incidents starting with May 17th, 2007. Pending support incidents will still be followed in order to be closed. The product forums will remain open and be transformed in user-to-user forums. The general forums will be made read-only and not allow new posts or comments.
For more information about the affected products visit: www.interaktonline.com/Support/

Hi Michael,
There is nothing it that is not in Kollection with the exception of XML Export.
The biggest difference is the ADDT is for DW9 ... Kollection will not work on DW9. same as ADDT will not work on DW8. Also ADDT does not have KTML.

I downloaded the new Dreamweaver, decided that it was not worth ditching all the InterAkt things I have so well done Adobe - here is one sale you lost.
I tried phoning their offices here in the UK for some compatability information. No one I spoke had a clue.

Have a look in the other forums.
No Interakt Produkt has support for the new Dreamweaver CS3. Only the new ADDT works in D. CS3 .
You can only do one thing. Use the older D. CS2.

Hi
I bought both the CS3 & toolbox
CS3 is good there is no getting away from that. The toolbox is is INTERAKT maybe the presentation of help is better.
What stands out is thatCS3 [IMHO] was pushing CF8 and the toolbox is pure php & mySQL.
So in that respect there is not much difference.
The big sticking point was AJAX. Here I have a feeling that AJAX was a 'quick fix' but could not evolve much further. INTERAKT's major problem was the never ending file system that was hard to fathom. As it is now SPRY is maybe less functional but it will grow and develop. The role of XML in AJAX is enormous and I just feel that ADOBE will handle AJAX better in the long run
Is it worth upgrading? Well it is bloody expensive. But CS is a class act and as I say I feel that SPRY will develop very quickly. On the other hand there is no need to abandon php and mySQL for CF8
Regards
Michael
