Hi,
Just bought the AJAX TooLKit and Pro. I'm trying to do the New Ajax Site wizard and it keeps locking up Dreamweaver. I go through the wizard, even creating only a home page with the defualt settings and still it hangs on the Background File Activity box forever. I have to use Task Manager to close the box and it shuts down DW as well.
I'm running DR8.02 on WinXPPro with plenty of power under the hood. I really like the idea here, and especially the ability to layout a site like this, but I can't get this to work at all. I'd like some help Please!!

Hello Tony,
There is no need to panic, we will try our best to help you overcome this problem.
First of all, please try the solution given in this technote. If you still have problems, please attach a screenshot with your Extension Manager.
What Dreamweaver version are you using? And what operating system version?
Regards,
Florin

Hi Florin,
Thanks for the quick response and sorry if I sounded impatient. I'm actually more excited about this extension replacing my SiteAssist extension and was hoping to get into it quickly.
Anyway, I already found that technote and tried deleting the config file with no effect at all on the AJAX problem, but it did solve the javascript error problem. I've attached a screenshot of my Extension Manager as requested. I'm running DW 8.02 on WinXP Pro. I;ve recently removed some older extension that I had installed after I bought the Pro version of Kollection, but other than that I these are all of the extensions I have installed at the moment. Again, once we get the AJAX extension up and running I'm going to remove most of the webassist extensions. With the exception of Ecart I find them light weight and wimpy compared to Interakt extensions.
I do have one other question about the Pro Multiple File Uplaod extension posted. After we work through this one it would be nice to get that resolved as well.
Thanks for the help and the great tools!

Hello Tony,
Please rename your configuration folder, located here: C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration. When you rename/delete the "Configuration" folder, all the extensions are disabled from DW. You then have a clean configuration - this can be useful in many situation, as Dreamwever's .xml files could get messed up from too many extensions installations.
Also, rename the Configuration folder from here: c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Extension Manager\Configuration\. This is a similar folder, but only for the Extension Manager (and it's specific for Dreamweaver 8)
Then, start Extension Manager, let it rebuild the cache and install only MXAJAXToolbox. Then, open Dreamweaver and check to see if you still have this problem.
Regards,
Florin

Hey Tony,
I've provided a reply there too, but unfortunately, we won't be able to reply to it until next week, as we don't work during weekends.
Please reply with the information requested on that thread, and we'll investigate this.
