Hello all,

As I've noticed that many of you have faced problems with getting JavaScript error messages in Dreamweaver environment, while accessing certain commands or server behaviors, editing some SB interfaces or just opening Dreamweaver.

Many of these errors are caused by the fact Dreaweaver's cache index file gets corrupted.

In order to read more about this issue and to find a possible solution, please check this technote.

Regards,
Ionut

I am not sure if this will help, but I have had numerous issues with javascript errors and recordset and server behavior errors. What has worked for me is to completely uninstall Dreamweaver, update to 8.02, then one by one install extensions. So far, it looks like the extensions that are interfering with the server behaviors and recordsets are the DMXZONE PHP extensions. When those are not installed, then everything seems to be working.  I hope this helps.

Hi,

If deleting the DW cache file does not help, you could try to recreate your DW "Configuration" files from scratch - do these:

- close all DW instances
- rename (to "Configuration_old") the "Configuration" folders from this hidden locations (this depens on how many DW version you have installed on your computer):

        - "c:\Documents and Settings\XP_user\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration"
        - "c:\Documents and Settings\XP_user\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration"
        - "c:\Documents and Settings\XP_user\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration"
( if you are on Windows OS)

        - "Macintosh HD:Users:MAC_User:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Dreamweaver MX:Configuration"
        - "Macintosh HD:Users:MAC_User:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Dreamweaver MX 2004:Configuration"
        - "Macintosh HD:Users:MAC_User:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Dreamweaver 8:Configuration"
( if you are on MAC OSX)

- if having DW 8 installed, delete all files from:
         "c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Extension Manager\Configuration\Extensions"
    or
          "Applications:Macromedia Extension Manager: Configuration: Extensions"

- install the extensions you need for any DW version you want use them with (you can then activate them for other DW instances too, from Extension Manager window); if you have DW 8.0.2 you will need the latest versions of our extensions (wich are only compatible with DW 8.0.2 and DW 2004).

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Ionut

Im not so sure it is a dreamweaver thing. I've had no problems prior to MX Kollection 3 Pro and have loved using Interakt products. But now it seems like I have to keep dealing with these JavaScript errors more often than I care to admit. If I had any hair on the top of my head, I would pull it out. This is a bit dissapointing, and I hope Interakt can get this fixed. It seems like more people than just myself is experiencing this same problem.

Hi Joe,

We are trying to fix all problems that we discover and can be handled, be sure of that.

I'm curious - were your JS error problems solved by following the suggestions given in this thread?

Regards,
Ionut

I get javascript errors occasionally but they tend to disappear by themselves. I also get the little exclamation marks in the server behaviours dialog all over the place non-stop. They don't seem to prevent me getting things done though I tend to just ignore them.

Hi Ionut,

I did not try to configuration thing. I did remove the filecache and that worked a few times, but now that filecache doesn't appear in the folder any more. Since I downloaded pro 3.7.1 it has gotten to be less frequent. What I usually have to do is close the program and reopen it, open a new file create a recordset. close that page and then resume, usually that works but not all the time.

Hi chickgeek,

Please start a nwe thread explaining the exact problem that you have, the things you've tried in order to fix it and attach a screenshot with the Extension Manager window, too.

chickgeek, if you start a new thread like they suggested, please put a link to it here so I can follow along with all these javascript problems. It seems that a lot of people are having this problem now. I never had the filecache become corrupt before kollection 3 Pro. Hopefully this can be resolved soon.
