There is a set of 7 icons in the MX AJAX Toolbox tab of the Insert bar (or MX AJAX Toolbox menu item from the Insert menu) that helps you work with AJAX panels and links:
Edit Panel States - When this button is clicked, a pop-up menu opens. Its items vary, depending on where the edit focus is placed within the site:
If you are in the master page and clicked one of the panels in Design view (its content looks to be selected), the options that show allow you to:
Edit the content of any state from the currently selected panel.
Edit the panel itself by accessing the AJAX Panel server behavior.
If you are editing a certain panel state, the options cover all the existing panel states in your site. Select the one whose content you want to edit:
Add Panel - It opens the dialog box for the AJAX Panel server behavior.
Add State - It opens the dialog box for the Add State command.
AJAX Link - It opens the dialog box for the AJAX Link server behavior.
Go to Master Page - This button is disabled when you are in the master page. It is enabled when you are editing a panel state. If clicked, it takes you to the master page (prompting you to save the changes in the panel state, if the case).
Manage Layout Changes - This button is only enabled when you are in the master page. It opens the dialog box for the Manage Layout Changes command.
Preview in browser - Click this button to preview in browser the page you are editing in Dreamweaver. If it contains AJAX panels, they will display the state currently shown in Design view. It is the fastest way to preview in browser the panel state you are editing.
