MX Kollection 3 uses a set of classes and functions known as the Transaction Engine 3.

The Transaction Engine 3 is an object-oriented core supporting PHP, ColdFusion and ASP VbScript. The Transaction Engine 3 has been designed to act as a framework which allows developers to encapsulate the application logic, in order to create powerful applications easier. The Transaction Engine 3 allows developers to associate application triggers to standard database transactions, in order to perform operations such as sending e-mail after a record was inserted, or checking referential integrity.
