There are two ways in which you can remove an AJAX panel state:
Reach the third tab (States) of the corresponding AJAX Panel server behavior as explained here. Select the state you want to remove and press the Remove state button above the Panel states grid.
Select the state in the AJAX Panels window/floater and press the Minus (-) button above the panel states list to remove it.
