What is it about?

Better organized interface

In the new KTML 4, there are considerably more operations that can be performed when editing content in a web browser window. They can be accessed through the five available toolbars: the buttons and drop-down menus have suggestive icons and tooltips that help you find your way around with no trouble.

New property inspectors

There are various elements (e.g. table, image, link, button etc.) that can be inserted in page and that require advanced options (e.g. width, color, alignment etc.) to be set. These options are put together in a property panel - the place where you can configure specific settings for the selected element in page.

Improved CSS rendering

When editing online content, each publisher needs his/her own styles to apply. KTML 4 allows you to use your own .css file: the styles defined there will be displayed in the Style drop-down menu from the toolbar, and this way you can access them any time they're needed.

Revolutionary image editor

This is definitely one of the top impressive new features! You can now edit images without leaving the KTML work environment. The image editor allows the following operations: crop, resize, rotate left/right, flip vertically/horizontally, blur, sharpen, increase/decrease contrast, increase/decrease brightness, compress image, zoom in/out, reset zoom, reset image.

File explorer

With the new Remote File Explorer window, the days when you had to upload tens of files (images) one by one are gone! The multiple file upload is the out-standing feature in this section of product. You can also manage folders and files on the remote server, and then insert them in page (multiple insertion is possible as well).

Support for multimedia files

Viewing Flash or Windows Media movies in web pages is a common thing. Getting them there in the right shape could be complicated. But not with KTML 4! It offers support for multimedia files when uploading on the server, inserting in page, and editing them, so that you can blend them perfectly in your site design.

Content templates

When routine pieces of content keep on occurring in your page, there is no need for wasting time on editing the same things over and over again. Creating content templates is the wise choice to save time and minimize editing!

HTML form controls

In KTML 4 you have everything you need in order to build simple HTML forms, and not only. The Form toolbar has thirteen buttons, and for each of these form controls, you have the possibility to set specific options in its associated properties panel.

Cleaning the HTML code

There are many times when the content that you are about to publish has been previously saved in Microsoft Word. When copying and pasting it in the KTML 4 editor, unnecessary tags are automatically added among the code lines. To ensure the right display of the content in browser, these extra tags have to be removed. It only takes a mouse-click with the new  KTML 4!

Increased loading speed

As everybody knows, time is the only recourse that cannot be recovered once wasted. When editing online content, it is very important not to spend too much time waiting on interfaces to load or operations to complete. Check out the improvements of the KTML 4 brand-new engine that significantly contribute to the greater loading speed of the editor.

Client-side improvements

Some of the most remarkable client-side improvements consist in the brand-new image editor, the multiple file upload feature, the much improved KTML 4 interface (work-like toolbars, contextual menus, numerous properties panels), the multiple server models supported, the object-oriented code behind the product.

Wider integration

Although previous versions of KTML provide the Dreamweaver integration as well, the KTML 4 - Dreamweaver extension is a lot more intuitive and easier to be used. But the product integration goes beyond Dreamweaver. KTML 4 is at the same time a Microsoft Visual Studio control, and can be integrated in the most popular Content Management Systems (CMS).

Better compatibility

Some of the areas in which the improved support and compatibility that KTML 4 provides is clearly visible are: WAI support, XHTML compliance, Mozilla compatibility, support for non-Latin languages.

Other improvements

There obviously is a multitude of new and improved features in KTML 4 - just to name some of them: spellchecker, find/replace, superscript and subscript text, hyperlink picker, special character insertion etc.
